Being located in the city center, our school provides exceptional opportunities to fully enjoy the best of Lisbon.
Our students really adore having their mid morning break in the romantic garden right in front of the school. Is there something better than seating outdoor surrounded by elegant and colorful buildings and amazing and exotic trees?
This shady garden planted in 1861, whose official name is “Jardim França Borges”, has many surprises to offer!
Who doesn’t love to read a book underneath a hundred-year-old cedar tree? You have one there that is like a giant umbrella (more than 20 meters in diameter) above your head, the perfect spot to relax! And if you want to grab a drink during your break, a beautiful café and two kiosks are also at your service.
As you know, we are located on the same square at number 23 in a yellow and newly renovated building. Nearby, at number 26 you can find the arabesque Ribeiro da Cunha Palace with its Moorish inspired architecture mixed with Art Nouveau details, now housing the concept store called Embaixada.
But there’s more…underneath.
Part of the Water Museum of the city, the underground water reservoir designed in 1856 was used during the 19th Century to transport waters from the Águas Livres aqueduct to some of the fountains of Lisbon. The entrance is right in the middle of the garden, beneath the fountain, and the exit is a nice surprise for the visitors! We suggest you to take a tour and see it with your own eyes!
Isn’t is the ideal place to relax and unwind between your intensive portuguese classes?
